Mrs. DC America Supports the Heart of America Foundation Charity Event


APRIL 23, 2012- Washington, DC- Mrs. DC America 2012 is supporting the Heart of America Charity in Chocolate – A Delicious Fashion Show and Celebration today at the National Building Museum.

Members of the Mrs. DC America organization will attend the event and Hermona Kiros, Mrs. DC America 2012 (1st RU) will actually participate in the fashion show.

The Heart of America Foundation® is a national nonprofit headquartered in Washington, D.C. They uniquely promote volunteer service and literacy. They aim to inspire acts of service and a love of reading by building community and providing children in need with the tools to read, succeed and make a difference.

The event will have a tasting and a silent auction, followed by an award presentation honoring Leah Gansler, Founder of CharityWorks with the 2012 National Hero of the Heart® Award. After the awards, the fashion show will proceed, with Hermona walking in the show.

“Our Mrs. DC America organization is excited to support the heart of America Foundation in its efforts to increase volunteer service and literacy in our children. It is a must that we promote the good will and community service the foundation has to offer,” states Raquel Riley Thomas, Executive Producer.

The Mrs. DC America Pageant publicly recognizes beautiful married women, living and/or working within a 25-mile radius of Washington, DC, who have obtained personal, professional and community achievements. An official preliminary pageant to Mrs. America and Mrs. World, the Mrs. DC America Pageant welcomes women from all ethnic backgrounds to compete in a yearly pageant for the title of Mrs. DC America.
