BALTIMORE — Situated just forty-five minutes up the I-95 corridor from the nation’s capital, Baltimore civic leaders and independent Maryland voters are mobilizing for the Independent National Convention (INC ’26) at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C. from September 23 to 25.
In a state long defined by entrenched single-party machine politics, an energized undercurrent of non-affiliated voters, civic watchdogs, and community leaders is asserting its independence. Maryland’s growing unaffiliated electorate is demanding ballot transparency, campaign finance reform, and an end to two party ballot monopolies.
Grassroots Independence Along the Mid-Atlantic Corridor
The convention provides a historic platform for independent candidates, civic organizers, and 3 party leaders. With discussions focusing on open primaries, modern debate access, and cross-partisan coalition building, Baltimore delegates aim to bring actionable reform strategies back to the Free State.
